The BIOS:
What is the BIOS and what does it do?
The BIOS (which stands for the Basic Input/Output) is a chip which is attached to all motherboards which basically contains instructions and a set up for how your system should correctly boot and operate. The BIOS will basically instruct the motherboard of how to boot and operate and then this information is processed and sent to the various components found throughout the computer (due to the motherboards control of those components).
